Dawat is a dinner party series hosted in a private home in Detroit by organizer and artist Farah Sattar. At our events, we hope to facilitate creative and cultural exchanges over family-style meals. Every menu is crafted with care and intention. When dining with us, we ask that you please eat mindfully, avoid waste, and get to know someone new.
Course One
Non-alcoholic salted dandelion and honey cordial (gluten-free, vegan, nut-free)
Course Two
Good sourdough (vegan, nut-free)
Fresh farmers cheese with herbs, honeyed carrots, and hazelnuts (gluten-free, vegetarian)
Course Three
Slow cooked cinnamon and saffron scented lamb (halal, gluten-free, nut-free)
Crispy cauliflower with spiced beet yogurt (gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free)
Fragrant basmati rice with fried dates (gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free)
Course Four
Bayleaf milk pudding with blackberry-lavender coulis (gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free)
